HOW WE LIVE OUR CATHOLIC FAITH

Our Belief

The All Saints High School community believes that a Catholic high school is one in which the teachings of Jesus Christ are integrated into the day-to-day curriculum and social fabric of high school life. We have many opportunities to pray and demonstrate our Catholic faith including: prayer services, classroom liturgies, daily prayer, and active pastoral team, opportunities for individual reflection in our chapel, and retreats for staff and students.

Our Partners

We live our Catholic faith by focusing on service, relationships, the Word of God, and lay witness and leadership. Our chaplain coordinates and animates, with local pastors, the many areas of our faith life. We also have Catholic symbols throughout our school and our parish representative is our liaison with the parishes.

Demonstrating Our Faith

All Saints High School demonstrates its commitment to the community by:

  • Support of the Catholic Organization of Development and Peace
  • Support for St. Angela's Educational Mission in Brazil and our sister school St. Elizabeth.

PRESERVING OUR SCHOOL HISTORY - LAST YEAR IN REVIEW

School success initiatives for this school year include a continued focus on effective transitioning from Grade 8 to Grade 9, helping students make appropriate pathway choices, and ensuring a high level of success in compulsory credit completion. Early detection of "at risk" students will also be pivotal to our school success plan so that credit intervention strategies can be put in place in a timely manner. This year we are laying the groundwork to launch a "Specialist High Skills Major" in the field of business where students will have the opportunity to bundle courses in business and technology. This program will help lead participants to employment, an apprenticeship, or postsecondary education. All Saints is pleased to announce that construction of a 30-classroom is completed.

    COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Academically, we were able to achieve over a 90% success rate on the Grade 10 Literacy test this past year. Our students took part in various Waterloo mathematics competitions. This year we will participate in the Terry Fox Run once again. For the past four years Grade 8 students have participated in the Skills Canada competition to showcase their skills in animation, mechanical engineering and technology winning gold and silver. All Saints has a vibrant music program and boasts 4 concert bands, 2 vocal groups, 2 jazz bands and at least 10 small ensembles.
