HOW WE LIVE OUR CATHOLIC FAITH
Our Belief
The Prince of Peace community believes that
a Catholic school is one in which the teachings of Jesus Christ are integrated into the

HOW WE KNOW WE ARE SUCCEEDING
Assessing Student Progress
The provincial assessment of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics conducted by EQAO for all students in grades 3 and 6 took place in May 2009. Students were assigned a score between level 1 (the lowest) and level 4 (the highest). Students performing at levels 3 or 4 meet provincial expectations. The school results over time are depicted in the graphs below. Provincial data is provided in the table for comparative purposes. Test results should be examined in the context of additional factors, such as other achievement indicators, the percentage of students in English as a Second Language programs, the percentage of students receiving special education support, socioeconomic factors and parental support. Detailed information about this assessment is available at the school.

PRESERVING OUR SCHOOL HISTORY - LAST YEAR IN REVIEW
Prince of Peace is highly involved in enhancing literacy throughout our community. In partnership with 'Everybody Learns' initiative, a Board sponsored program, early literacy is the focus in our school. School spirit is high as teams continue to excel in athletic tournaments; the choir demonstrates our talents in the Arts; and school assemblies encourage student invlovement in leadership, song, dance and drama.
While our Peacemakers assist in conflict resolution, our focus this year is 'anti-bullying.' Students are finding creative ways to end all bullying in the playground.

More About Our Students/ School Achievement
|
 |
At Prince of Peace we believe that it is very important to recognize student achievement publicly. Each month, the entire school gathers for the Student of the Month assembly which recognizes those students who have a achieved a particular goal with particular criteria. As well, admirable behaviour is recognized weekly through our Ottawa 67s 'Adopt- A- School' program. Students are rewarded for academic achievement or good citizenship deeds with tickets to an Ottawa 67s hockey game.
Graduating students are presented with the criteria for school awards in early September so that they may reach high to achieve these awards in June.
Students in all grades are offered a number of 'incentive initatives,' often involving field trips and community activities, to encourage excellence in student achievement.
