HOW WE LIVE OUR CATHOLIC FAITH

Our Belief

The St. Patrick's High School community believes that a Catholic high school is one in which the teachings of Jesus Christ are integrated into the day-to-day curriculum and social fabric of high school life. We have many opportunities to pray and demonstrate our Catholic faith including: prayer services, classroom liturgies, daily prayer, and active pastoral team, opportunities for individual reflection in our chapel, and retreats for staff and students.

Our Partners

We live our Catholic faith by focusing on service, relationships, the Word of God, and lay witness and leadership. Our chaplain coordinates and animates, with local pastors, the many areas of our faith life. We also have Catholic symbols throughout our school and our parish representative is our liaison with the parishes.

PRESERVING OUR SCHOOL HISTORY - LAST YEAR IN REVIEW

Our future plans are shaped by our School Success Plan, which has as its core values Faith, Community, Partnership, Persons, Excellence, Stewardship, and Justice. They are also shaped by our Board's theme for the year: "Who is My Neighbour?"

Specific goals for this year include continued improvement of student performance on system-wide and EQAO tests and ongoing support of various community and social justice initiatives such as the CHEO Telethon, the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, and continuing our fundraising for Cancer research.
We put a priority on developing student leadership through the Student Council, Grad Committee, Social Awareness Club, the Ambassadors Program, and Peer Helpers.

  • An increase in experiential learning throughout all levels of curriculum with programs such as OYAP.
  • Expanding our Center of Success to service more students in gaining employability skills
  • Initiating our new High Skills Major Program in the Health Sciences Area
  • Expanding partnership programs - such as with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute
